As a newcomer woman, you might be navigating barriers to steady work or financial independence. You may have a business idea and the motivation to get started—but not know where to begin. Or maybe you’ve already taken the first steps and want support to take things further.

That’s where we come in.

This program is built for immigrant women who have the ideas, creativity, and determination to succeed—but need the right tools, guidance, and connections to move forward. Through this program, you’ll gain:

  • Practical business training

  • Mentorship and one-on-one coaching

  • Support with branding, marketing, and digital tools

  • Help registering your business and preparing for funding

  • Access to grants, microloans, and community connections

It’s not just about launching a business. It’s about building knowledge, confidence, and financial skills so you can shape the future you want—for yourself and your family.

The best way for you to connect with the our self-employment/entrepreneurship worker is to first speak with a settlement worker who will assess your needs and refer you to the best person to support you.

How it works

For Aspiring Entrepreneurs

If you’re just getting started, we’ll help you turn your idea into a business step by step. You’ll learn how to:

  • Build a business model

  • Create a plan

  • Register your business

  • Understand finances and pricing

  • Develop your brand and marketing strategy

For Early-Stage Business Owners

If you already have a business (less than 1–2 years), we’ll support you in growing and strengthening it. Together, we’ll work on:

  • Business planning and operations

  • Time and money management

  • Marketing and outreach

  • Funding and grant applications

  • Personal branding and pitch preparation

Your Commitment

The program includes workshops, one-on-one coaching, and group learning. You’ll be encouraged to attend regularly, complete key milestones, and participate in special opportunities like pitch competitions and expos.
