Understanding and experiencing connections with the land are fundamental aspects of Indigenous knowledge. In this session, Dr. Pamela Rose Toulouse invites you to develop your relationship with the land, explore meaningful ways to engage with your environment and community and participate in authentic, land-based experiences.

Dr. Pamela Rose Toulouse is an award-winning Anishinaabe scholar and consultant in Indigenous Education and Indigenous Cultural Safety. She has 30+ years of experience across the education continuum from K to 12, Post-Secondary and Administration. Dr. Pam (as she is more fondly known) is a proud Anishinaabe-Kwe and a member of the Sagamok First Nation in Northern Ontario. She is the recipient of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance Teaching Excellence Award (2021), Inspiring Indigenous Women of Northeastern Ontario Award (2019), 3M National Teaching Excellence Fellow Award (2015), Laurentian University Full Time Faculty Teaching Excellence Award (2014) and the Laurentian University Professional Schools Teaching Excellence Award (2013). She is the author, researcher and developer of over 55 resources in Indigenous Education and wellness (e.g. books, chapters, articles, curriculum, webinars and others).
