Meet and Engage with your Community!

The Peer Outreach Leadership Training will build the capacity of newcomers to engage their community through effective outreach.

This free 10 session interactive training includes workshops on understanding newcomer needs, community resources, how to make referrals, and effective outreach strategies.

There is a practicum component where participants will get the chance to learn about their communities and practice outreach. Our goal is for residents to get to know each other, learn about their communities, and find ways to make each other’s voice heard.

Workshops include:

  • Overview of newcomer needs

  • Equity & Anti-Discrimination

  • Communication & Outreach Styles

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Introduction to Community Resources

  • Effective Outreach Strategies

A certificate of participation will be awarded upon completion.
