Session 1 : Occupational Research for Job Search

In this workshop we will learn how to identify your Job Title, Industry, and Specialization for the Canadian labour market. You will identify the skills, qualifications, knowledge, and experience that employers require for this type of job and compare these with yours in order to determine if there are any gaps and how to best position yourself on the market.

Session 3 : Format Your Resume for Success

In addition to a great content, your resume needs to be organized and look it's best to get the employer's attention

In this workshop you will learn all the rules for formatting your resume page and text so that it is easy to read and stands out in style as well as content.

Session 5: Master the Interview Process

Your phone rings. It's an employer inviting you for an interview tomorrow. Are you ready?

In this workshop you will learn all about the steps you need to take to ensure the best performance in an interview, including:

- what is behind every question an employer may ask you

- how to prepare to answer standard, behavioural, situations, and technical interview questions

- what to bring with you; what to wear; what to do before, during, and after the interview

Session 2 : Develop your Resume Content

In this workshop, we will learn how to describe your past experience in your resume in the most impactful and strategic way. We will learn what information to include, what to leave out, and how to express it within a skill statement that will fit into your resume.

Session 4 : Expand Your Job Search

Learn about different job search strategies to identify the shortest and most effective path to your target employment.

Once you know exactly what job title, industry, and specialization you are targeting in your job search and your resume is ready to impress employers, you are ready to learn how to:

- use advanced search options on job boards to identify job postings that are the best fit for you

- use market research strategies to identify opportunities before they are posted

- identify companies in your job search area that are most likely to hire you

- approach employers or contacts and build relationships that can lead to job offers
